William “Bill” Glave, 88, of Ashland, Virginia, departed this life on September 10, 2019. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Felicia; his five children, his four grandchildren, and one great-grandchild, his brothers, John (Alan) Glave and Richard Glave; and longtime friend and Saturday morning breakfast partner, Ray Tyson. He attended Randolph Macon College and UVA. Upon graduation, he entered the Navy Flight program. After receiving his wings, he served in the all-weather attack squadron, operating off a number of aircraft carriers including the Intrepid. He served on the Hanover Airport Commission for 28 years. He had a love for sailing and flying and was an active member of the Quiet Birdman, a pilots’ organization and a longtime member of VAHS.
